Susanne Daniel studied biology at the University of Münster, Germany. Following her PhD (Dr. rer. nat) in 1989 she worked as a project leader for 4 years in cancer research at the Institute of Immunology, University of Freiburg i. Br., Germany. She then moved into project management and conference organisation with a strong focus on life sciences, first at Bureco AG (Switzerland), then at the Convention Center Basel. She planned and managed many regional and international events including "MipTec", the leading European event for drug discovery.
After 6 years and many successful projects Susanne founded her own company Scivent (www.scivent.com). Scivent is specialized on the planning and organization of Life Science events including scientific conferences and business meetings. In addition to the management of many regional and international events she was acting as the German BioValley co-ordinator (Interreg III programme) and has worked for ECPM (European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine at the University of Basel) on the planning and management of special courses in Business Development and Leadership within the new Master Programme (Master of Advanced Studies in Drug Development Sciences). Currently she is working as a Project Director for the IMI JU funded project “PharmaTrain” dedicated to the European-wide harmonization of postgraduate training in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
Since 2008 she is member of the board of the BioValley Deutschland e.V. (Freiburg i. Br., honorary). Susanne Daniel is married and has two adult children. |
